Environmental Campus Birkenfeld
Here you can get an overview of the equipment of the respective partner and stroll through the laboratories. Information on the equipment or projects located here is provided by the attached reference markers.
The tours were created and edited with the Matterport system of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld. Here you have the possibility to get an idea of the local conditions and to get detailed information about different projects.

Virtual tours through the laboratories at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld
Laboratory for generative manufacturing I
The Laboratory for Generative Manufacturing I at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld is currently under construction and houses powder-based manufacturing processes for additive manufacturing. Here, insights into the world of metal 3D printing can be taken. The manufacturing method used here is “selective laser melting”.
Currently available is:
• Renishaw AM 400
• One Click Metal MPrint+
Laboratory for generative manufacturing II
The Laboratory for Generative Manufacturing II offers students and researchers the opportunity to learn and investigate methods related to plastics as a material.
Here are available:
• 4x Prusa Mk3s with enclosure (FFF)
• Lisa Pro (SLS)
• Markforged Mark Two (FFF + Fiber)
• Anycubic Photon (DLP)
• Formlabs Form3L (SLA)

Optics laboratory
In the optics laboratory at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld, all samples and products produced during the “ComPrintMetal3D” project are optically measured to ensure 100% quality monitoring. This allows conclusions to be drawn about the manufacturing tolerances of different AM processes.
